The Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County welcomes new members, called affiliates. Being an affiliate of the Diversity Consortium may be one of the most important connections you and your company or organization make to expand your thinking and stay on the leading edge of diversity in the workplace. 

Affiliate Benefits 

  • Visibility: Demonstrate your commitment to diversity to the public, your customers, and your employees. Your logo and company/organization name included on the DCTC website and your organization will be represented in the consortium.
  • Connections: Network with other professionals and participate in planning high quality conferences and workshops
  • Knowledge: Stay up to date on the most current diversity leadership, management, and community issues, and learn best practices from organizations that face similar marketplace and employment situations.

Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County

The Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County shall serve as a catalyst to promote the benefits of diversity and inclusion through enhancing awareness, supporting networking and sharing best practices.


  • Affiliation is based upon an application, to be reviewed and approved by a majority of current affiliates.
  • Affiliates must represent organizations demonstrating commitment to managing diversity and advancing inclusion.
  • Each affiliate organization may have two representatives (up to 5 for large employers).

Affiliation Fees

An annual non-refundable affiliation fee will be due on January 31st of each year. Affiliation fees will be collected on a sliding scale based on organization size:

Affiliate Expectations
Carrying Forth the Mission
Affiliates will carry forth the mission of the Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County within the organizations that they represent and in the community, through active involvement, meeting participation, and Consortium governance.

Active Involvement
Affiliates will be actively involved and engaged by:

  • Participating in the activities, programs, and events of the Consortium;
  • Serving on subcommittees or providing event/program execution; and organization.
  • Agree to participate in DCTC List Serve

Meeting Participation
An affiliate shall be subject to review of their “active” affiliation status:

  • If they should fail to send a representative to 3 or more meetings during a calendar year.
  • If they should fail to notify the the President or Vice President of a meeting absence more than 2 times or
  • If they fail to maintain involvement in committees and/or assigned responsibilities.
